Is Fiverr Still Worth It? My Experience with a Less-Than-Stellar Freelancer
Is Fiverr losing its edge? I recently encountered a disappointing experience hiring a freelancer on the platform, and I’m wondering whether this reflects a broader trend or was just bad luck with one provider. It feels like the overall quality of work may have declined.
I needed a website for a travel-focused project and selected a freelancer who appeared qualified based on their profile. They agreed to the project promptly, which seemed encouraging, but the issues started soon after. Over the next seven days, the freelancer did not ask any questions about the project, clarify requirements, offer suggestions, or provide regular updates.
Just before the deadline, they delivered the final website. The result was not up to standard: it clearly did not meet the stated requirements, and it was evident that the freelancer had not taken the time to understand what I needed.
Is this type of experience common on Fiverr, or was it an isolated incident with a single freelancer? Have others noticed a decline in quality on the platform?
